What is the bite force of a pitbull?

Pitbulls are known for their strong bite force. On average, a pitbull has a bite force of around 235 pounds per square inch (psi). This puts them in the category of dogs with a strong bite force, but they are not the strongest breed in terms of bite force. For example, the Kangal, a breed of Turkish livestock guardian dog, has a bite force of around 743 psi, which is much higher than that of a pitbull. Regardless, pitbulls have powerful jaws and can cause significant damage with their bite if not properly trained and socialized.
